Baton Rouge, LA 70815-6738.  Have him stamp your original AMA card the next time you see him.

Come to the January meeting with your ideas and suggestions for 2005 activities and their estimated costs and/or income.  Your input is needed to help the officers develop a budget for the year.  It’s your club – what would you like to have it do next year?

DECEMBER 2004 MEETING MINUTES

President Farley Phillips called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM.  He asked the Secretary to read the minutes from our November meeting.  The minutes were read and approved by all members present.

Farley then asked our Treasurer for a report on our club finances.  B. C. Kistler gave his monthly report plus he gave his year end financial report.  It was approved by all members present.

Farley then gave a year end report covering the club’s activities for 2004.  He reminded us that we gained 3 mew members during the year and he sadly reminded us of the passing of 3 of our members.  We will enjoy all of our new members and will greatly miss the members we lost.

Blackie LeJeune was asked for a field report.  He advised that the grass has not been cut due to the wet weather conditions we have been having.  He said that it will be cut just as soon as we have some dry weather.  Blackie also confirmed Marvin Wooster has joined the grounds committee to replace Glenn Darce.  Many thanks to Glenn for all the work he did to keep our field in the great condition it is in.  Blackie also commented that there are no ants or grub worms to bother us since the field was recently sprayed.

Bob McMillan, our safety officer, was asked for a safety report.  Bob advised that one of our members had been grazed by a prop recently.  He reminded us that we must be constantly vigilant for the hazards of a spinning prop.  Bob also talked about an article in this month’s AMA magazine.  The article talked about the use of Fail Safe controls on our planes.  Some discussion followed about how fail safes work and the advantages and disadvantages of using them.

OLD BUSINESS

Farley confirmed the list of the club officers we elected to serve us in 2005.

Mike Goetzman brought up our Intro Pilots.  He reminded us we need to identify and register our intro pilots.  They are Blackie, Mike Goetzman, and Farley Phillips.

Our Secretary advised that our meeting room at the library has been reserved and confirmed for 2005.  Our meetings are scheduled for the first Tuesday of each month.

NEW BUSINESS

New member Ronald LaBiche was accepted into our club by all members present.  We are happy to welcome him.  His sponsor is Weldon Sharon.

Farley asked Bob McMillan and Vic Jines to handle the delivery of Christmas gift fruit baskets to the Kissner family.  They will handle this task for Farley since he will be traveling so much for the next few weeks.

Mike Goetzman has agreed to be our CD for our next Big Bird.  He asked us to start thinking about a date and a rain date for it.  We need to get the paper work in to the AMA as early as possible.  We should plan to discuss this at our January for February meeting.

Glenn Gresens offered to coordinate our next Cub Day.  There were some suggestions that we enlarge it to include other clubs or even combine it into a scaled fly-in with AMA sanction and door prizes.

George Sexton displayed his new 89” Decathlon, Mike Goetzman showed us his C-47 fuselage he is building and Jimmy Lyon showed us his new electric helicopter.

A motion was made and seconded that the meeting be adjourned at 7:55 PM.  Vic Jines gave a demonstration of hinge selection and application after the meeting was adjourned.
